One of the joys of Mom’s life was her fellowship at First Baptist Church. She unfailingly prepared for Sunday worship each Saturday night, studying her Sunday School lesson and looking forward with great anticipation to her Sunday school class which was taught for years by Ann Reed. She enjoyed the lessons and activities of that class.
Mom was a fastidious homemaker and an excellent cook. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren relish memories of the special dishes she made for each one. The table was never complete until everyone had something they liked. She realized she was not just making meals–she was making memories. Nothing surprised or pleased her more than to share a recipe. Nothing will make us miss her more than our imperfect attempts to copy her. We will miss her whenever we gather as a family, but we are thankful she is no longer in pain.
Services will be held today,  Thursday, Aug. 13, at 11:00 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Michael Roach and Phil Cromwell officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
