Travis Morris (7-28-15) service 8-1-15

Travis Morris departed this life on Tuesday, July 28, at the age of 103 years, 10 months, 13 days.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1911, the son of the late Albert E. and Perlie Allen Morris. On Jan. 8, 1936, he was united in marriage to Ora Evelyn McBride, who preceded him in death on Oct. 7, 1997.
Travis graduated from Freed Hardeman College. He taught grades 1-8 in a one room school house in Hurricane, Tennessee, where he also coached basketball. He had also worked for TVA, Brown Shoe Company, and was a manager for Dollar General. He was a member of Adamsville Church of Christ, where he served as deacon for many years, and was a past member of the Lions Club.
Travis is survived by a son, Billy N. Morris; daughter, Loretta Morris Hamm and husband Bobby; grandchildren, Eddie Morris and wife Lori, Benji Morris and wife Tammi, Tammy Bauer and husband Brian, Kimberly Klausing and friend Rusty, Kenny Hamm and wife Candi, Kelly Hamm and wife Gina; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; nephew, Tommy Willis and wife Judith; three great-nieces and one great-nephew.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mackey E. Morris; sister, Clyde Perlina Morris Willis; grandchild, Gina Lynn Morris; great-grandchild, Kassidy Nicole Hamm; daughters-in-law, Glenda Morris and Brenda Morris.
Memorial donations may be made to Adamsville Church of Christ, 243 East Main Street, Adamsville, Tennessee 38310 or Adamsville Healthcare Activity Fund, 409 Park Ave., Adamsville, Tennessee 38310.
Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Van Vansandt officiating. Burial followed in Morris Chapel Cemetery at Morris Chapel.
