Emmett “Jim” Garner Jr. (7-12-15) service 7-17-15

Emmett “Jim” Garner Jr., 54, of Dickson, Tennessee, formerly of Savannah, died on Sunday, July 12.
He was born in Bellwood, Illinois, the son of Emmett Watson Garner and Doris Jo Burleson Bowman.
Mr. Garner Jr. was a tool and die maker for Shiloh Industries. He was a member of Olive Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sons, James Randall Garner of Booneville, Mississippi and Jonathan Forrest Garner of Savannah; three grandchildren; mother, Doris Jo Bowman and husband, Tony of Lexington, Tennessee; father, Emmett Watson Garner and wife, Helen of Savannah; sister, Deborah Lynn Miller of Adamsville; one niece; and two great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Johnnie Garner, Brad and Jessie Burleson; and a nephew.
Services were held on Friday, July 17, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah. Burial followed in Pebble Hill Cemetery at Michie.
