Dorothy Rainey (6-24-15) service 6-27-15

Dorothy Baxter Rainey, 102, of Savannah, died on Wednesday, June 24.
She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late James David and Lella Mae Grimes Baxter. She was united in marriage to Jesse Gilbert Rainey, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rainey was a homemaker and a member of Crossroads Union Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Rainey Simmons of Savannah; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Nell Rainey, Charles Rainey and Linda Rainey McMahon; siblings, Laura Baxter, Robert Baxter, Mildred Doran, J.D. Baxter and Mary Lou Evans.
Services were held on Saturday, June 27, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Charles Emory Fitts officiating. Burial followed in New Harmony Cemetery at Savannah.
