Ruth Massengill (6-18-15) service 6-21-15

Ruth Stanfield Grisham Massengill was born in Hardin County on Feb. 4, 1935, the daughter of the late James Tate and Flossie Hanna Stanfield.
On Aug. 8, 1961, she was united in marriage to Lem Grisham Jr., who preceded his wife in death on Jan. 3, 2005. On Sept. 27, 2008 she was united in marriage to Wayne Massengill, who preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 2010.
Mrs. Massengill was the owner of Country Home Health in Sardis for four years. She was a member of The Upper Room in Savannah. Mrs. Massengill enjoyed reading, singing, playing the accordion and crocheting.
She departed this life on Thursday, June 18, in Savannah,  at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 14 days.
Mrs. Massengill is survived by her children, Sherry McCurdy and her husband Don Burkhardt of Nashville, Gary Creasy of Nashville  and Tommy Grisham and his wife Stacy of Savannah; six grandchildren, Robert McCurdy, Jeremy McCurdy, Elizabeth Shoemake, Melody Grisham, Keri Inman and Levi Casteel; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Massengill was also preceded in death by one son, Ricky Dean Grisham; and one brother, Truman Stanfield.
Services were held on Sunday, June 21, at 1:30 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with William Duke and Stacy Grisham officiating. Burial followed in Liberty Cemetery at Morris Chapel.
