Helen Deshazier (6-8-15) service 6-12-15
Helen Ann Smith Deshazier departed this life on Monday, June 8, at the age of 70 years and 28 days. She was born in Hardin County, on May 11, 1945, daughter to the late Edgar and Virginia Murphy Smith.
Helen was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Park Rest Nursing Home for 12 years. She was also a member of New Creation Ministries and lived in Hardin County all of her life. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the Smoky Mountains, television and reading.
Mrs. Deshazier is survived by the father of her children, Billy Wayne Deshazier of Savannah; children, Charles Wayne Deshazier, Melissa Ann Hottiman and her husband Lamond, Connie Lynn Frost and her husband Jerald, and Jeffrey Dale Deshazier and his wife April, all of Savannah; siblings, Dorothy Mae Hill and Betty Oakley, both of Savannah, and Norma Sue Smith of Selmer; grandchildren, Starla Hopkins, Tiffany Denise Pipes, Nathan Frost, Brittany Frost, Cameron and Ashley Deshazier, Bessie and Jeffrey Deshazier Jr., and Timothy Deshazier; and great-grandchildren, Braden Fowler, Aubrey and Morgan Hopkins, and Kayleigh, Laiken, Alexis and Cali Deshazier.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Louise Deshazier and Peggy Smith.
Services were held on Friday, June 12, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Ricky Garrard officiating. Burial followed in Neill Cemetery at Savannah.
