Evelyn Bowling (5-18-15) service 5-21-15

Evelyn Bowling departed this life at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah on Monday, May 18, at the age of 88 years, 3 months, and 1 day.
She was born on Feb. 17, 1927, daughter to the late Oscar and Ollie Bryant Simmons. She was united in marriage to Burgess (Pat) Wyley Bowling on June 8, 1946, who preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1990.
Evelyn was employed as an inspector for Angelica Manufacturing for more than 40 years. She was also a self-employed seamstress and a member of Olive Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bowling is survived by her sons, Larry Bowling and his wife Linda of Olive Hill and Gary Bowling of Florence, Alabama; brothers, Jack H. Simmons and Billy Simmons of Olive Hill; grandchildren, Nicole L. Bowling and her fiancé Brian of Olive Hill, and Lauri Wilkerson and her husband Keith of Savannah; great-grandchild, Callie Claire Wilkerson of Savannah; special niece, Jimmie Lou Milgram; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her siblings, Hughie Simmons, Joe Simmons, W.K. Simmons, James Simmons and Myrtle Dowdy.
Memorial donations can be made to the Darryl Worley Cancer Treatment Center, 935 Wayne Road, Savannah, Tenn. 38372 or Olive Hill Baptist Church.  
Services were held on Thursday, May 21, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah  with Kyle Wishert officiating. Burial followed in Olive Hill Cemetery at Olive Hill, Tennessee.
