Freeda Davis (5-6-15) service 5-8-15

Freeda Flurry Davis departed this life at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah on May 6, at the age of 80 years, 5 months, and 27 days.
She was born in Tishomingo County, Mississippi, on Nov. 9, 1934, daughter to the late Charles Grady and Leora Cummings Flurry. She was united in marriage to W. Guymon Davis for 57 years, who preceded her in death on May 11, 2010.
Mrs. Davis was employed as an engineering clerk at TVEC and retired in February 2001 to care for her first and only grandchild, Dalton. In addition to Savannah, Tennessee, Freeda also lived in Belmont, Mississippi until she was 14, and El Paso, Texas while her husband was in the Army. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Savannah, and was also a part of the I.B.E.W. Union of Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
Freeda loved caring for people. She was a caregiver to her parents, in-laws and husband. Her favorite to care for was her only grandchild, Dalton Dockery, from birth until her passing. She also loved to work in her vegetable garden and her flowers.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Debbie Dockery and her husband David of Savannah; grandchild, Dalton David Dockery; sister, Faye Cunningham and her husband Dwayne; nephew, Keith Cunningham; niece, Dawana Dupree; cousin, Randy Livingston; great-nieces, Kayla and Ceria; and great-nephews, Dakota and Jayden.  
Services were held on Friday, May 8, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Wade Holbrook and Eric Jones officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
