Clara Bridges (3-29-15) service 3-31-15

Clara Walker Bridges departed this life on Sunday, March 29, at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, at the age of 82 years, 3 months, and 19 days.
She was born on Dec.10, 1932, in McNairy County, daughter to the late Fate and Venny Elizabeth Tidwell Walker. She was united in marriage to Paul Bridges on Feb. 16, 1974, who preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2012.
Clara was employed for 40 years as a program technician for the ASCS Office now known as Farm Service Agency in McNairy County. She was also a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association.
Clara lived in the River Heights area since 1974. In her early childhood she was raised in Finger, Tennessee, and at one time also lived in the Bethel Springs, Tennessee area.
Mrs. Bridges enjoyed camping, boating and bingo. She also enjoyed watching basketball and was a huge Grizzlies fan. She loved to be with her family as much as possible, and always took advantage of any opportunity to meet new friends.
Clara is survived by her daughter, Connie Smith and her husband Tony of Adamsville; sister-in-law, Bernice Walker of Memphis; grandchildren, Angie Reed and her husband Travis and Tim Smith and his wife Angie; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Reed, Katelyn Reed, Parker Smith and Katie Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Helen Ray, Grady Walker, J.R. Walker and Lanier Walker.
Memorial donations can be made to the Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
Services were held Tuesday, March 31, at 3 p.m., in Shackelford Chapel with Duwayne Pounds officiating. Burial followed in Maggie Jones Cemetery.
