Peggy Goodner (3-18-15) service 3-21-15

Peggy Goodner was born July 7, 1935 in Lenox, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Lodie B. and Willie Ann Minnick Sikes.
She was united in marriage to Dennis Goodner on Feb. 14, 1979.
Mrs. Goodner loved people and this showed throughout her professional career. She was the operations manager for the nationwide furniture warehouse chain, Levitz Furniture Company. A big part of her job was traveling across the country to open new stores. After her career in the furniture business, she was the owner of A&S Office Supply and Interior Design in Memphis and The Basket Outlet in Maryville, Tennessee.
Mrs. Goodner enjoyed boating, traveling with her family, gardening and cooking for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly.
Mrs. Goodner departed this life on March 18, in Guys, Tennessee, at the age of 79 years, 8 months, 11 days.
She is survived by her husband Dennis Goodner of Guys; three daughters, Brenda Redmon and husband Steve of Selmer, Anita Livingston and husband Doc of Sevierville, Tennessee, Beverly Neal of Maryville, Tennessee; two stepsons, Scott Goodner of Maryville, Tennessee, and Brett Goodner of Nashville; eight grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren and one due to arrive in May; two sisters, Wanda Johnson of Bethel Springs and Joyce Atkinson of Cleveland, Tennessee; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goodner was preceded in death by her first husband, J.B. Howell; infant daughter; a sister, Madge Sikes; two brothers, James and Jerry Wayne Sikes.
Services were held on Saturday, March 21, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer with Jay Johnson and Mike Hollaway officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery at Selmer.
