William “Runt” Brown (2-8-15) service 2-10-15

William James “Runt” Brown departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 8, at Wayne Medical Center, Waynesboro, at the age of 71 years, 1 month, 22 days.
He was born Dec. 17, 1943, in Waynesboro, the son of the late William James and Alice Irene Morgan Brown. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a daughter, Adela Hope Brown; and brothers, Paul, Perry, Sam, Jerry and Ray Brown.
He was united in marriage to Neva L. Pulley on Oct. 3, 1964, had worked for Shull Truck Line and was a retired truck driver for Milan Express. Mr. Brown and his wife had lived in Savannah 43 years before moving to Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife, Neva L. Pulley Brown, Waynesboro; sisters, Mary Ruth Davis, Waynesboro, Edie Crews, Savannah, Rebecca Brown, Edith Bratcher and Edna Daniel, all of Collinwood and Jonnie Davis, Olive Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Tuesday, February 10, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, with Donnie Overton and Steven Turnbow officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Collinwood, with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers were Blake Davis, Byron Davis, Nathan Brown, William Davis, Ryan Webb and Jeremy Skipworth. Honorary pallbearers were Vance Beckham, Dakota Dickerson and Allen Brown.
