Betty Collins (1-17-15) service 1-21-15

Betty LaJane Collins, 75, of Savannah, died Saturday, Jan. 17, at her residence.
She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Therman (Bud) and Annie Belle Monroe Adams. She was united in marriage to Charles Leroy Collins, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Collins retired from Valaron GTE Corp., where she had worked as a tool and die maker. Afterward she worked as a real estate agent with Whitten Realty in Savannah.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Counce, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and also a member of the Cherokee Organization of Mississippi.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Ann Garland Himmler of Counce; one son, Allan J. Garland of Savannah; two sisters, Charlotte Adams of Counce and Sarah Whitten of Savannah; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, James William and Mattie Whitehurst Adams and James C. and Clara M. Battles Monroe.
Services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Rev. Jimmie McChristial officiating. Burial followed in Center Hill Cemetery at Counce.
