James Hobbs (12-9-14)
James Robert Hobbs departed this life on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the Hardin Medical Emergency Room at the age of 58 years, 3 months, and 27 days.
He was born on Aug. 12, 1956, son to the late Henry Thomas and Ruby Neil White Hobbs. He was united in marriage to Teresa Kay Odle on Nov. 24, 1975, who survives.
James was a retired orderly from the Hardin County General Hospital and before that was employed at the Pickwick Inn Restaurant. He also lived in the Cerro Gorda area of Hardin County. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend of many. He loved fishing, four-wheeling, collecting antiques, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed gardening and building things with his hands. People were known to find him playing card games on the computer, digging ginseng, hunting and, most of all, helping to take care of others.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hobbs is survived by his children, James Allen Hobbs of Waynesboro and Dana Starr Jenkins of Collinwood; siblings, Henry Joe Hobbs of Nashville and Larry Wayne Hobbs, Annie Marie Haynes, Kathy Patricia Copeland and Carolyn Sue Gastineau, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Stephanie Scott, Chancellor Hobbs, Tyler Scott, Shea Hobbs, Quentin Scott, Chloe Scott, Gabriel Hardin, Aryona Hardin, Eric Hobbs, Jiminey Jenkins, Nathaniel Jenkins, Allie Jenkins, Harley Jenkins and Hunter Jenkins; and great-grandchild, Zander Scott.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Thomas and Ruby Neil White Hobbs.
