Sibyl Newton (11-18-14) service 11-24-14

Sibyl A. Newton, 96, of Lakeville, Indiana, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18,  at her home. She was born on Sept. 5, 1918, in Hardin County, to the late David and Carrie Prince. She was united in marriage on March 14, 1941, in Hardin County, to Leo B. Newton Sr.
Mrs. Newton is survived by two daughters-in-law, Joyce L. Newton of Lakeville, Indiana and Gayle A. Newton of Illinois; numerous grandchildren, great-  grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren; sister, Caldona Pouns of Tennessee and brother, Dee (Iris) Prince of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Callma Bird Prince, who raised her; husband, Leo B. Newton Sr.; daughter, Rosemarie Abbott; sons, Leo B. Newton Jr. and Robert Lee Newton Sr.; two grandsons, Robert L. Newton Jr. and Michael Boits; and three sisters, Gladys Houx, Inez Thompson and Irene Prince; and two brothers, JR Wood and Anderson Wood.
Mrs. Newton was employed at Hoosier Racing Tire until her passing. She was a member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church. She was loved by all her family and enjoyed the little ones so very much.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Indiana. Rev. Sue Irwin, pastor of Maple Grove United Methodist Church, is officiating. Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville, is assisting the family.
