Ernest Terry Fortune (11-8-14) service 11-12-14

Ernest Terry Fortune was born in Rossville, Tennessee, on Oct. 3, 1918, the son of the late Ernest B. and Audrey Wade Fortune.
On Dec. 26, 1941, he was united in marriage to Alma Bernice Wade, who preceded her husband in death on Dec. 28, 2010.
Mr. Fortune retired from CR Gibson Company where he was a salesman. He served his country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He was a technical sergeant in the Asia-Pacific theater operations. He served five years active duty and four years reserve. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Savannah and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Fortune loved God and his country, and he was extremely a patriotic American.
He departed this life on Saturday, Nov. 8, in Savannah,  at the age of 96 years, 1 month and 5 days.
He is survived by his son, Michael Terry Fortune and his wife Janet of Savannah; two grandsons, Jason Fortune and Justin Fortune and his wife Kara, all of Nashville; four great- grandchildren, Brandt, Brennen and twin girls, Caroline and Addie Ann; and one sister, Doris Lipscomb of Nesbitt, Mississippi.
In addition to his parents and his wife of 69 years, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Forrest and June Fortune.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Memphis Memory Gardens in Memphis with Michael Roach officiating.
