Joe Jake Jones departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 1, in his Clifton residence at the age of 75 years, 3 months, 17 days.
He was born June 14, 1939, the son of the late William Alfred and Delia Conway Jones. He was united in marriage to Robbin Ellen Smith on April 26, 1959, who survives.
Mr. Jones served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Parsons, Tennessee, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a Baptist minister for 52 years in the states of Tennessee, Mississippi, Illinois and Michigan, restoring many churches in those areas. He loved to read and hunt, and his pastimes included woodworking, crafts and writing. He loved everyone and had compassion for lost souls. For the past 12 years, Mr. Jones lived in the Clifton area.
In addition to his wife, Robbin of 55 years, he is survived by his daughter, Christy Jones Howard and her husband, Jeffrey of Warren, Michigan; four nieces, Sherry, Diane, Mitzi and Susan; two nephews, Bill and Larry; seven grandchildren, Joseph Robert, Rachel Brandalyn, Jessica Kristen, Benjamin Adam, Nicholas William, Hannah Claire and Zachary Jeremiah; and four great-grandchildren, Angelique Elizabeth, Isabella Grace, Blake James and Katelyn Ella.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by one son, Jeffery Jones; one brother, William Dan Jones; and one sister, Virginia Townsend.

Services wre held on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 3 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Clifton with Randall Runions, Ronnie Wilburn and Chad Balentine officiating. Burial followed in the Clifton Cemetery at Clifton.
