Leland Turnbow (9-14-14) service 9-16-16

Leland Claude Turnbow was born July 05, 1929, to Hugh Arthur Turnbow and Fannie Ada (DePreist) Turnbow in Wayne County. He grew up in Perry County and moved to Hardin County, where he met and married Mary Lynn Austin on Oct. 24, 1954. They raised two children, Donny (Janice) Turnbow of Savannah and Judy (Ted) Patterson of Sardis, Tenn.
Mr. Turnbow farmed most of his life in Hardin County. He also enjoyed his four grandchildren, Jason (Marie) Patterson of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Adam (Nadine) Patterson of Leistal, Switzerland, Brittany Teague of Counce and Brandon Turnbow of Savannah. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, Isabella Patterson, Ashtyn Patterson, Jackson Patterson, Harper Patterson, Mcrae Patterson of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Aiden Patterson of Leistal, Switzerland.
Mr. Turnbow is survived by one brother, Homer Turnbow (Louise) of Savannah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Harl (Louise, deceased) Turnbow of Memphis, Roscoe (Virginia) Turnbow, Clyde (Martha Ann) Turnbow, both of Saltillo, Tenn., Richard (Peggy, deceased) Turnbow of Sardis, Tenn.; and four sisters, Ruby (Cletus, deceased) Sollis, Nellie (Lon A Barber, deceased) of Sardis, Tenn., Lillian (Coy, deceased) McGloughlin of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Altie Cohen (Edward) of Arlington, Va.
Leland Turnbow left this world on Sunday, Sept. 14, in the early AM at Hardin County Hospital. He will be put to rest in the Sardis Cemetery.

Services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Don Jones officiating. Burial followed in Sardis Cemetery at Sardis, Tenn.
