Eddie L. Shaw, 82, of Counce, died Sunday, Aug. 31, at Hardin Medical Center.
He was born on in Corinth, Miss., the son of the late Edwin Lafayette and Edna Mae Shultz Shaw. He was united in marriage to Joanne Belle Yeager, who survives.
Mr. Shaw served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Pickwick United Methodist Church. He was a self-employed entrepreneur, who was co-owner of Adamsville Sand and Gravel and Ray Ed Corporation for 21 years. Prior to that, he owned and operated Ed Shaw Restaurant and Gift Shop. Mr. Shaw served as transportation commissioner for the State of Tennessee from 1974 to 1978.
In addition to his wife Joanne, he is survived by a son, Eddie L. Shaw II and a daughter, Rita Shaw Maxedon, both of Counce; and a granddaughter.
In addition of his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Joe Shaw.

Services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Paul Childers and Dick Haley officiating. Burial followed in Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery at Shiloh.
