JR “Jake” Parrish (7-27-14) service 7-30-14

JR “Jake” Parrish, 81, of Counce, died Sunday, July 27, in Savannah.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Chester and Vosta Blakney Parrish.
Mr. Parrish served his country in the United States Army. He was the owner and operator of Jake’s Truck Stop in Counce and he also had worked for Corinth and Counce Railroad for 15 years. He was a member of Counce First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children, Randy Parrish of Counce and Dedra Flynn of League City, Texas; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Karrey Parrish; and two brothers, Horace and Lester (Pete) Parrish.
Services were held on Wednesday, July 30, at First Baptist Church in Counce with Rev. Jimmie McChristial officiating. Burial followed in the White Sulphur Cemetery at Pickwick Dam.
