Rod Bowden departed this life Thursday, May 22, at the age of 58 years, 2 days.
He was born in Hardin County on May 20, 1956, the son of Helen Irene Smith Tirey and the late James Gary Bowden. Rod had lived in Shiloh all of his life and was a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed rock hunting, fishing, hunting, playing pool and watching his grandchildren.
Rod is survived by his daughters, Daphne Wilson of Savannah, Shannon Higby of New Jersey, Tabitha Brown of Crump, Shay Bowden and Kacie Lambert both of Shiloh; sons, Rodney Bowden of Savannah, Cody Bowden, Colby Bowden and Mason Wallace all of Shiloh; mother, Helen Tirey of Tuscumbia, Ala.; brother, Marty Bowden of Savannah; 11 grandchildren and companion, Sandra Kay Bowden of Shiloh.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Wayne Bowden.
Services were held Sunday, May 25, at South Shiloh Community Church in Savannah with Steven Wilbanks officiating. Burial followed at Cromwell South Shiloh Cemetery in Hardin County.
