Hubert Tinin (5-14-14) service 5-16-14

Hubert Tinin was born in Clifton, August 17, 1924, the son of the late Ralph Willard Tinin and Nona Delphia Battles Tinin. He was united in marriage to Mary Virginia Brigham on May 9, 1944, who survives.

Mr. Tinin lived his entire life in the Clifton area where he farmed for many years and retired as a bus driver for Wayne County Board of Education. He also served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed coon hunting, playing baseball, checkers and rook. He also enjoyed all of his animals on his farm.

Mr. Tinin departed this life Wednesday, May 14, at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 27 days.

In addition to his wife Virginia of Clifton, he is survived by a daughter, Patricia Thurman of Savannah; a son, Tommy Tinin of Clifton; five grandchildren, Susan McAfee, Dave Buroughs, Melissa Ruth, Paige Slone and Megan Tinin; six great-grandchildren, Brandon McAfee, Kelsey McAfee, Jordan Buroughs, Josalyn Ruth, Garrett Ruth and Dawson Slone and two sisters, Jewell Holt and Elizabeth Templeton both of Clifton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jada Ruth and Lauren McAfee and one sister, Willadean Neal and one son-in-law, Jimmy Boroughs.

Services were held Friday, May 16, at 1 p.m. in Savannah with Craig Mason and Dave Buroughs officiating. Burial followed at Clifton Cemetery in Clifton.
