Jimmy Neill (3-12-14) service 3-15-14

Jimmy B. Neill, 74, of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, in the home of his daughter. He was born May 25, 1939, in Savannah, to Archie B. and Gladys (Gray) Neill. On May 24, 1980, in South Bend, Ind., he was united in marriage to the former Marilyn Rohrbaugh Neill who preceded him in death July 18, 2007.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Neill.

Mr. Neill is survived by three daughters, Tammy (Larry) Fribley of South Bend, Ind., Mikki (Larry) Cabanaw of Mishawaka, Ind. and Kim (Ron) Franklin of Osceola, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Carrie, Ben, Derek, Stephanie, Dillon, Christine and Cory; six great-grandchildren and a brother, Jack (Judy) Neill of Savannah.

Mr. Neill has lived in South Bend, Ind., for the last 48 years coming from Tennessee. He was a truck driver, worked for 18 years at Notre Dame and for 13 years at AM General. He loved Notre Dame and working on cars, especially muscle cars. He enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds and squirrels.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, Ind. Private graveside services and burial will take place at a later date at Neill Cemetery in Savannah.
