Ann Dennis Gass was born In Henderson County on June 22, 1938, to the late Ben and Bertha Willis Howell. On Aug. 17, 1954, she was united in marriage to Gene Dennis, who preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1984. On June 21, 1985, she was united in marriage to Don Gass, who preceded her in death April 5, 2001.

Mrs. Gass lived in Hardin County for 60 years where she worked as a seamstress for H.I.S. for 30 plus years She also worked for Smith’s Grocery for 12 years in Saltillo. She enjoyed taking care of people, shopping and cooking.

Mrs. Gass departed this life March 9, at Decatur City General Hospital at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 15 days.

She is survived by two children, Susan Dennis White and her husband Roger of Sardis, and Larry Dennis and his wife, Deborah of Savannah; three grandchildren, Shonda Goff, Scotty Dennis and Amanda Camper; and four great-grandchildren, Tommy, Savanna, Whitlee and Landin and a sister, Sally Smith and her husband, Jimmy of Saltillo.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Howell and Michael Howell.

Services were held Tuesday, March 11, at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Eric Smith officiating. Burial followed at Shady Grove Cemetery in Saltillo.
