Paul Jones (2-13-14) service 2-16-14
Paul T. Jones was born in Scotts Hill on Jan. 3, 1920, the son of the late Lloyd and Ida Holland Jones.
Mr. Jones served his country in the United 2-16-14States Air Force as an airplane mechanic and crew chief.
He worked for Piggly Wiggly for more than 20 years and also worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan. He was a truck driver and he retired from Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a member of Liberty Church of Christ.
On May 10, 1955, he was united in marriage to Rachel Brown, who survives.
Mr. Jones departed this life Thursday, Feb. 13, in Corinth, Miss., at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 10 days.
In addition to his wife Rachel of Adamsville, he is survived by his children, Fred Jones of Savannah, Teresa Jones of Adamsville, Rhoda Talley of Prattville, Ala., Lloyd Jones of Savannah, Kim Shelby and her husband Phillip of Savannah and Sharon Stanley of Norman, Okla.; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Faye Couch, an infant son, Jimmy Paul Jones and a brother, Claude Jones.
Services were held Sunday, Feb. 16, in Savannah with Tim Carothers, Billy Joe Stewart and Corey Leonard officiating. Burial followed at Mars Hill Cemetery in Adamsville.
