Carrie Ponds (1-29-14) service 2-1-14

Carrie Nell Ponds, 80, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, at her residence. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Alda Mae Clayton. She was united in marriage to Buster Ponds, who preceded her in death.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her sons, Jeffery Ponds of Lewisburg, James Charles Ponds, Kenny Ponds and Buster Ponds Jr., all of Savannah; daughters, Patricia Armstrong of Lewisburg and Dolly Renee Franks of Savannah; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter Carylon Diane Ponds; two grandsons and one granddaughter.

Services were held Saturday, Feb. 1, in Saltillo. Burial followed at Lebanon Cemetery in Hardin County.
