Devena Alexander (1-1-14) service 1-4-14

 

 

 

Devena Rinks Alexander was born in Hardin County, June 6, 1965, the daughter of Earline White Rinks and the late Edgar Rinks. On April 27, 1983, she was united in marriage to Dale Alexander, who survives.

Devena was a secretary for Smith & Smith Attorney at Law for 13 years. Devena loved her boxer dogs, Drummer, Ringo and Gretch. She also loved fishing and singing. She would go to convalescent homes and sing to the residents. Most of all Devena
loved being with her family, especially her two grandchildren.

She departed this life Wednesday, Jan. 1, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, at the age of 48 years, 6 months and 26 days.

Devena is survived by her husband of 30 years, Dale Alexander of Adamsville; a son, Josh Alexander and his wife Kelsey of Chattanooga; a daughter, Magan Alexander of Adamsville; a stepdaughter, Atoyia Barnes and her husband Bart of Selmer; two
grandchildren, Hayse Barnes and Jack Houston Barnes; mother, Earline Rinks of Savannah; a sister, Lisa West of Savannah; and a brother, Bruce Rinks of Savannah.

In addition to her father, Devena was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Rinks.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 4, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Mike Moore and Harry Nolen officiating. Burial followed at Adamsville Cemetery in Adamsville.
