Lowell Willard Tyler departed this life on Friday, Nov. 22, at the age of 79 years, 5 months, 5 days. He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Paul Clifford and Alma Elizabeth Strawn Tyler.

He was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country honorably from January 1957 through January 1959. Lowell retired from Caterpillar after 32 years of employment as a welder. He was a member of the United Auto Workers (UAW).

Lowell is survived by his son, Merle Jolley of East Peoria, Ill.; sister, Butonne Scott of Crump; brother, Arnold Strawn Tyler and wife Evelyn of Crump; nephew, Benjie Tyler; niece, Carla Cromwell; and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Sue Tyler; brothers, Carl Wayne Tyler and Paul C.  Tyler.

Services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Steve Webb officiating. Burial followed at Crump Cemetery in Crump.
