Sherry Meek was born in Richmond, Calif. on Jan. 25, 1944, the daughter of the late Walter and Louise Harkey Taylor. On Dec. 14, 1968, she was united in marriage to Charles “Chuck” Meek, who survives.

Sherry had lived in Jackson, Miss. for 10 years and in the Milledgeville, Tennessee area for 34 years. For 24 years, Sherry was the co-owner of White Oak Shell in Milledgeville, Tenn. She loved her family, home, bird watching, and traveling. She was a member of the Tennessee Fuel and Convenience Store Association, McNairy County Forestry Association, and attended First United Methodist Church in Adamsville.

She departed this life on Friday, Nov. 1, at the age of 69 years, 9 months, 7 days.

Sherry is survived by her husband of 44 years, Chuck Meek of Adamsville; daughter, Mechale Brewer of Clarksville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Tim Lard of Adamsville, Rick Finley of Selmer, Tenn., Molly Brewer and Kara Brewer both of Clarksville, Tenn.; great grandchildren, Kai Finley and Jayden Lard; sister, Sandy Guthrie of Memphis an brothers, Bob Taylor of Olive Branch, Miss. and Philip Taylor of Germantown, Tenn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Finley.

Services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3, at First United Methodist Church in Adamsville with Dr. Toni Watson officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Adamsville First United Methodist Church.
