Morris Beckham, 86, of Savannah, died on Wednesday, Oct. 30. He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Jay Wilson and Alta Davis Beckham. He was united in marriage to Royce Beverlyn DeBerry, who survives.

Mr. Beckham served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed by the Hardin County School System, where he eventually became the superintendent of schools. He was also employed by the Hardin County Bank in Savannah. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Savannah and served on the Board of Trustees.

Services were held on Friday, Nov. 1, at First United Methodist Church in Savannah with Dr. Ron Brown officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.

In addition to his wife, Royce Beckham of Savannah, he is survived by two children, Suzanne Henson of Selmer, Tenn. and Joel Beckham of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; four grandsons and one sister, Katye Ellis of Waterloo, Ala.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, J. W. Beckham, Hassell Beckham and Bill Beckham.
