Barbara Dixon (10-24-13) service 10-28-13

Barbara Gale Dixon, 68, of Muscle Shoals, Ala. died on Thursday, Oct. 24. She was born in Cherokee, Ala., the daughter of the late Finnis Leonard and Viola Beatrice Lindsey Wood. She was united in marriage to Travis Wayne Dixon, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Dixon had been employed with Cooky’s Place, The Blue Bank, Greer Egg Farm, and was a member of Elks Lodge in Corinth, Miss.

Services were held on Monday, Oct. 28, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Paul Childers officiating. Burial followed at the Center Hill Cemetery in Counce.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Dixon of Florence, Ala.; five grandchildren; sisters, Patsy Phillips of Muscle Shoals, Ala. and Beatrice Mills of Selmer, Tenn. and brother, Jack Wood of Muscle Shoals, Ala.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Wright, Elizabeth Ezekiel, and Virginia Andis.
