Virginia (Jenny) Smith (9-21-13) service 9-24-13

Virginia ( Jenny) Smith, 91, of Savannah, died on Saturday, Sept. 21. She was born in Lutts, the daughter of the late Albert and Ettie Rainey Murphy. She was united in married to Edgar Smith, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She attended Lutts Baptist Church.

Services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Ricky Garrard officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery at Wayne County, Tenn.

Mrs. Smith is survived by  her daughters, Helen Deshazier of Savannah, Norma Smith of Selmer, Tenn., Betty Oakley and Dorothy Hill, both of Savannah; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Peggy Smith and Louise Deshazier; grandsons, Tony Smith, Sonny James Hill, and Jessie James Hill; and brothers, Haggard, Henry, Lewis, J.T. and Seb Murphy.
