Nancy Knight Weeks was born May 18, 1960 in Clewiston, Fla., the daughter of Buford “Bud” and Mary Nell Griswell Knight. She was united in marriage to Gary Dale Weeks on July 31, 1987. Who preceded her in death on February 2, 2010, following 22 years of marriage.

Nancy graduated from Bolivar Central High School. Following graduation, she attended college and earned a degree in Nursing. Nancy worked as a Registered Nurse for Hardin Medical Center Home Health in Savannah. She loved to dance, and enjoyed riding her fourwheeler, swimming, fishing, and just being outdoors. Nancy loved to find a good bargain, and was the ultimate do-it-yourselfer, always working on a project. She loved animals and was a Christian. Nancy’s favorite thing to do was to spend time with her grandson Johnny, whom she loved very much.

Nancy departed this life on Sunday, Sept. 8, in Savannah, at the age of 53 years, 3 months, 21 days. She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Burkeens and husband Jeff of Enville; a grandchild, Johnny Burkeens of Enville; her parents, Buford “Bud” and Mary Nell Griswell Knight of Bolivar, Tenn.; three sisters: Brenda Dabbs and husband Mitchell of Bartlett, Tenn., Melba Allen and husband Roger of Bolivar, Tenn., and Peggy Turner and husband Kim of Silerton, Tenn.; two brothers, Matt Knight and wife Dana of Bolivar, Tenn. and Howard Knight and wife Lisa of Lakeland, Tenn.; her best friend, Freida Treece of Adamsville; numerous nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends.

Services were held on Friday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tenn. with Chuck Castles officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Enville, Tenn. Memorial contributions may be made to the American ancer Society.
