Edith Grimes Walker was born on June 21, 1919, in Hardin County, to the late William Essie and Mary Ruth Johnson Grimes. On July 18, 1945, she was united in marriage to Marvin B. Walker, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and a member of the Savannah Church of Christ. She loved quilting, crafts and taking care of her family.

She departed this life on Monday, Sept. 23, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital, at the age of 94 years, 3 months and 2 days.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy Chance of Savannah, and one great-grandson, Joseph DeLaRosa.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert W. Chance, Jr. and four sisters, Wilma Davis, Lucille Shelby, Rhea Roberts and Virginia Jo Bennett.

Services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Lance Foster officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
