Charles E. Stanfill departed this life on Tuesday, Aug. 13,  at the age of 86 years, 11 months, 17 days.
He was born in Morris Chapel,  on Aug. 27, 1926, the son of the late Ellis and Martha Flora Wade Stanfill. On May 22, 1948, he was united in marriage to Vonnie White, who survives.
Mr. Stanfill served his country honorably in the US Army during WWII. He was employed with Brown Shoe Company as a general superintendent and retired after 37 years with the company. He loved working on his land and raising cattle, and he enjoyed bird watching. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Adamsville.
Mr. Stanfill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vonnie White Stanfill; a son, Stephen Charles Stanfill and wife Pam; granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Burns and husband Jonathan; and a sister, Helen Phillips all of Adamsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jess and Carl Stanfill; sisters, Hazel Barlow and Clarice Jones.
Services were held on Friday, Aug. 16, at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Adamsville, with Steven Callicoat, Dr. Toni Watson officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
