Billy “Bam” Franklin, 33, of Savannah, died on Sunday, Aug. 4, in Savannah.
He was born in Memphis, Tenn. the son of Katie May Rankin Franklin and the late Matt Edwards. He was united in marriage to Kristina Gail Koonce, who survives.
Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Larry Paul Rich officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
In addition to his wife, Kristina Gail Koonce of Savannah, he is survived by his children, Michaela and Matthew DeVaul, both of Savannah, and Keon White of Memphis, Tenn.; his mother, Katie May Franklin of Memphis, Tenn.; five sisters, Peggy Franklin, Geraldine Shaw, Lori, Kathy and Katrina Franklin, all of Memphis, Tenn.; six brothers, Albert Franklin, of Kentucky, Lee, Johnny and Steven Franklin all of Memphis, Tenn., Eddie Franklin of Holly Springs, Miss., and Raymond Leach of Savannah.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Diana Franklin and one nephew.
