Betty Wilkerson Copeland departed this life on Sunday, Aug.11, at the age of 70 years, 3 months, 22 days.
She was born in Savannah,  on April 20, 1943, the daughter of the late Harve and Maude Kennedy Wilkerson. On March 16, 1960, she was united in marriage to Billy Floyd Copeland, he preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2012.
Betty had worked at Savannah Manufacturing Company and Hardin Home Nursing Home. She was a homemaker, loved to work in her flowers, singing, dancing, playing her guitar, and gospel music. Betty enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and always was helping others in need. She was a member of the Living Word Fellowship.
She is survived by her children, Ronald Copeland, Billy Joe (Jody) Copeland, Sherry Copeland Tigner, Lisa Copeland Franks, and Patricia Copeland Crotts all of Savannah; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Josie Franks, Daisy Austin, Lura Franks, Carrie Perry, and Sarah Haynes; brothers, Gilbert Wilkerson, Wilbert Wilkerson, and Jamie Wilkerson; grandson, Billy Lynn Mitchell, Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Brenly Ostrom.
Services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 13,  at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with J. P. Gillis officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.
