Frances Starnes, 89, Savannah, died on Wednesday, July, 31, in Savannah.Â
She was born in Wayne County, the daughter of the late Arthur and Dora Culp Ray. She was united in marriage to Roy Hershel Starnes, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Starnes worked for Brown Shoe Company.
Services were held on Friday, Aug. 2, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Teresa Starnes and Jim Wright officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
She is survived by her children, Teresa Starnes of Georgetown, Tenn., and Robert Starnes of Nashville; two grandchildren; one sister, Eddie Mae Ray of Waynesboro, Tenn.; and one brother, Warren Ray of Oakland, Tenn.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister Mary Edith Jeter.
