Effie Jean Seaton Rainey, 85, of Savannah, died on Thursday, July 25, at Hardin Medical Health and Rehabilitation Center in Savannah.
She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Johnny and Nancy Seaton. She was united in marriage to James Robert Rainey, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rainey attended church at New Creation Ministries.
Services were held on Saturday, July 27, at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Tony Polk officiating. Burial followed in the Hollands Creek Cemetery at Hardin County.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Maples of Adamsville, and Wanda Knouse of Savannah; one son, Bruce Rainey of Sevierville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Rainey; two sisters Arlene Beardon and Lucille Bratton; and 2 grandchildren.
