Ruple Jarrett

Ruple Jarrett of Adamsville, departed this life on Monday, July 1, at the age of 94 years, 8 months, 25 days.

She was born in Decatur County, Tenn., on Oct. 6, 1918, the daughter of the late Raliegh Arthur and Agnes Jones Brasher. On Dec. 23, 1939, she was united in marriage to Charlie Arvel Jarrett. He preceded his wife in death on April 11, 1993.

Mrs. Jarrett had worked as a cook in the Deering School district. She had lived in Pemiscot County for 25 years and Hardin County for 30 years. She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and attended the Church of God in Savannah.

She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Byers and husband Harold of Lyons, Colo.; son, Charlie M. Jarrett of Wood River, Ill.; grandchild, Susan Taylor; step great-grandchildren, Ben, Emily, Luke, Sean and Katie Byers; brother, Macon Brasher of Sardis, Tenn.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mae Brasher, Woodrow Brasher, Haywood Brasher, Thomas C. Brasher, Melzene Brasher, Roberta Brasher and Nathan Brasher.

Services will be held on Friday July 5, at 11 a.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Bobby Pickens officiating. Burial will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery at Saltillo.
