Wallace Bachuss, 91, of Savannah, died on Thursday, May 9.

He was born in Savannah, the son of the late Joseph and Rebecca Cooper Bachuss. He was united in marriage to Odette Lepelletier, who preceded him in death.

A graveside service was held on Monday, May 14, at the Pyburn Cemetery in Savannah with Harry Nolen officiating.

Mr. Bachuss enlisted in the Army during WWII and was honorably discharged after three years of service. He then enlisted in the Navy and served for 19 years. Wallace retired from the Navy in 1962 as a ship serviceman 1st class. His military service took him to New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan. After retirement from the military he worked for DSC (Diesel Service Center) in Torrance, Calif., as a warehouse manager.

He is survived by his children, Steven Bachuss of Loganville, Ga., and Marcelle Miller of Anaheim, Calif.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Maggie Barnett and Guerneal Goodman both of Savannah; brother, James Bachuss of Savannah.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Frances Bachuss; brothers, Elmer, John, J.B. and Gernel Bachuss.
