Virginia Akers

Virginia Akers, 84, of Savannah, died on Tuesday, April 23.

She was born in Cambridge, Ohio, the daughter of the late Chester and Bessie Clary Kendrick.

Virginia was affectionately known as “Miss Ginny” and had worked as a door greater at Wal-Mart.

Services were held on Friday, April 26, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Charles Parker officiating.

She is survived by her children, Toni Dunmire of Loudonville, Ohio, Tina Ginnetti of Lincoln, Calif., Jamie Parker of Savannah, Jim Brown of Petal, Miss.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim Kendrick.
