Charles “Tootie” Free

Charles “Tootie” Free was born on Feb. 3, 1964, in Hardin County, the son of Billy Eugene and Marion Boling Free. On Nov. 18, 1982, he was united in marriage to Angela Jo Bridges, who survives.

Charles lived in the Clifton area all of his life and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clifton. He worked in mold maintenance for Aqua Glass in Adamsville for 13 years. He loved Tennessee Football, NASCAR, Dale Earnhart Jr. and deer hunting.

Charles departed this life on Wednesday, April 24, at the age of 49 years, 2 months and 21 days at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by one son, Brian Free and his wife Chrissy of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Olivia and Thomas Free; one sister, Chrystal Reed and her husband Andy of Clifton; and two nephews, Kelby Harmon and Cason Reed of Clifton.

Services will be held on Sunday, April 28, at 1:30 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Tracy Love officiating. Burial followed in the Prater’s Chapel Cemetery at Wayne County, Tenn.
