Robert Luther Hicks, 82, went to his heavenly home on Monday, April 15. He had been in Regional Hospital in Jackson, Tenn., for several weeks. He was born Nov. 11, 1930, in the Ozark community to the late Robert R. Hicks and Ada Shockley Hicks. He was a retired from the U.S. Navy with 22 years of service. He was a former employee of Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss. He enjoyed woodworking and loved animals.

Services were at the Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn, Miss., on Thursday, April 18, with J.C. Newby officiating. Burial was in the Ozark Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Robert D Hicks (Sandi) of Savannah, Cecil Hicks of Booneville, Miss.; three daughters, Kathy Tucker (James) of Smyrna, Tenn., Brenda Taylor of Booneville, Miss., Wanda Yates (Edwin) of Booneville, Miss.; sisters, Bernice Estes of Ozark, Miss., Faye Beck of Dorsey, Miss.; and one brother, Milburn Hicks of Pontotoc, Miss. He had 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Ruble, James and Delbert Hicks.

We would like to thank our friends and family for all the well wishes, prayers, food, cards and gifts. He was a Great Man and will be very much missed.
