James Sanford

James Dee Sanford, 74, of Saltillo, died Monday, April 1, at Jackson Madison County Hospital.

He was born in Saltillo, the son of the late William Dee Sanford and Beatrice Bingham Sanford. He was united in marriage to Molly Montgomery Sanford, who survives.

Services were held on Wednesday, April 3, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Lloyd Blankenship, Jeremy Goff officiating. Burial followed in the Shady Grove Cemetery at Saltillo.

In addition to his wife, Molly Sanford of Saltillo, he is survived by a son, Jamie Dee Sanford of Memphis; two sisters, Neva Kate Clayton and Eunice Blankenship.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shelly Sanford; sisters, Lois Sanford, Josephine Sanford, Maxine Surratt; a brother, Gordon Sanford; half-sisters, Edna O’Neal and Ona Brooks; half-brother, Edward Sanford.
