Cory Lockard

Cory Lynn Lockard, 14, of Savannah, died on Monday, April 1.

He was the son of Marissa Plunk and Timothy Lynn Lockard.

Cory was an eighth grade student at Hardin County Middle School. He was recently inducted into the National Junior Honor Society.

Services will be held on Thursday, April 4, at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah in Savannah with Jim Chamblee officiating. Burial will follow in the Crump Cemetery at Crump.

He is survived by his mother, Marissa Plunk of Savannah; father, Tim Lockard of Waynesboro; brother, Wyatt Plunk of Savannah; grandparents, Ronnie and Doris Rippy Plunk of Savannah, Connie Lockard of Waynesboro; great-grandparents, Bill and Mollie Plunk of Adamsville, Jimmy James Rippy of Savannah.

He is preceded in death by great-grandmother, Mary Lois Rippy; grandfather, George Alvin Lockard.
