Shannon Burns

Rece "Shannon" Burns, 65, of Savannah, died on Saturday, March 16.

He was born in Pemiscot County, Mo., the son of the late Shirley Newt and Maggie Mae Davis Burns. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Mancell, who survives.

Mr. Burns had worked as a construction worker, sawmill worker and at Clayton Homes.

Services were held on Tuesday, March 19, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Bobby Pickens officiating. Burial followed in the Old Union Cemetery at Hardin County.

In addition to his wife, Mary Ann Mancell Burns of Savannah, he is survived by his children, Marilyn Norman, Margie Price, Alan Burns, Jessica Burns, James Burns and Jeremy Mancell, all of Savannah; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Regina King of Kennett, Mo., and Jamie Seigler of Doniphan, Mo.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce, T.J., Jack, Michael and Paul Burns; sisters, Vivian, Marthann, Shirley and Linda Burns; great-grandchildren, Lisa Maryann, Cameron and Cami Burns.
