Bernice "B" Evelyn Cromwell departed this life on Friday, Feb. 22, at the age of 86 years, 6 months, 26 days.

She was born in Decatur County, Tenn., on June 27, 1926, the daughter of the late Andrew and Jimmie Stegall Turnbo.

Mrs. Cromwell loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of East End Methodist Church. Mrs. Cromwell retired from Brown Shoe Company. After retirement she became a greeter at Wal-Mart.

Mrs. Cromwell is survived by her children, Kathy Gant and husband Billy, Charlie Cromwell and wife Latonia, all of Savannah; stepsons, Rickey Cromwell and wife Vicky, Larry Joe Cromwell and wife Carla, all of Savannah; sister, Ermadine Riley of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Casee Cromwell, Cooper Cromwell, Brian Higgins and wife Leigh, Lei Anne Parrish and husband Bobby, Stacey Bullock and husband Todd, Crystal Cromwell, Chris Cromwell and wife Carla; great-grandchildren, William Parrish, Evelyn Parrish, Lily Higgins, Laynee Bullock, Katlyn Johnson and Jacob Cromwell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Atlas Cromwell; brother, Leck Turnbo; sister, Mary Katherine Mathis; grandchild, Tony Cromwell.

Private graveside services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m., at Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Hardin County with Mary Foote officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.
