Truman Boggs

Truman Frank Boggs, of Counce, was born on June 23, 1930, in Hardin County to the late Dalton and Annie Riddell Boggs. He was married to Carrie Dare, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Boggs served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He worked at Hotpoint in Chicago before returning to Hardin County. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Boggs departed this life on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the age of 82 years, 7 months, 21 days.

He is survived by one brother, John Boggs of Shiloh; four sisters, Bernice Hooper (Gene), Darlene Knight (John) of Corinth, Jane Fowler of Counce, and Norma Wallace of Savannah; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Boggs and Travis Boggs, and one sister, Mary Boggs.

Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Keith Driskell officiating. Burial followed in the Center Hill Cemetery at Counce.
