Robert "Big Jeff" Brewer
Robert Glen Brewer, 55, of Savannah, died Wednesday, Feb. 6.
He was born in Hardin County, the son Mary Gayle Brewer Mathis.
Mr. Brewer had been a deckhand with American Commercial Barge line and a truck driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Gerald Caperton officiating. Burial followed in the Graham Cemetery at Savannah.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Brewer of Pensacola, Fla., and Justin Brewer of Savannah; three grandchildren; sisters, Georgia Middleton of Savannah and Teresa Pickens of Shiloh; brothers, Junior Mathis of Lexington, Tenn., James and Joe Mathis, both of Savannah.
