Linda Joyce Thrasher

Linda Joyce Thrasher was born in Indiana on March 31, 1953, the daughter of the late Tommy Jeremiah and Bertha LV Hunt Harville. She was united in marriage to Jack Thrasher, who survives.

Linda was a truck driver for Wrightway Express. She lived in Hardin County all of her life. Linda enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, cooking, working in her flower garden and she enjoyed her car. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Savannah.

Linda departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 3, in Savannah, at the age of 59 years, 10 months and 3 days.

In addition to her husband of 26 years, Jack, she is survived by her children, Christopher Lee Melson of Savannah, Mendy Joyce Harris of Waynesboro, Jennifer Denise Word and Belinda Dawn Jamison, both of Savannah; seven grandchildren, Andrew Jeremiah Melson, JohnE Lee Melson, Zachary Dale Melson, Grayson Walker Melson, Steven Rodaer, Gracie Nicole Harris and Gaige Dalray Word; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Marie Melson and Olivia Grace Brown; two sisters, Jane Austin and Wanda Lewis, both of Savannah; and three brothers, Jerry Harville of Jackson, Tenn., Roger Dale Harville of Biloxi, Miss., and Stevie Harville of Savannah.

In addition to her parents, Linda was also preceded in death by one brother, Jack Harville; one grandchild, Felix Hunter Melson; and one niece, Brandi Harville.

Services were held on Friday, Feb. 8, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Brian Rainey officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.
